How companies are perceiving the opportunities of digitalisation

Companies that have not yet digitised any parts of their production will not strive to do so in the future. In contrast, many companies are networking with their customers, even if there are still obstacles in this area, for example data protection and data security.

Karl Hofmann, a doctoral student at the University of Siegen, discussed these first research results with IfM scientists at the virtual forum in mid-March. For his doctoral thesis, he is empirically investigating how intensively companies in Germany perceive the various opportunities of digitalisation.
