Participation in external events Implications of sustainable financing legislation

It is not only the impact of the war in Ukraine that is currently challenging the Mittelstand companies, but also, for example, the shortage of skilled workers and the goal of doing business more sustainably. At the Federal-Länder Committee in Berlin, Dr Annette Icks presented the first results of the survey for the "Mittelstand Future Panel".

Dr Markus Rieger-Fels talked about the impact of the recent European regulation on sustainable finance on Mittelstand enterprises. The IfM researchers are currently analysing the new regulatory developments and their impact on financing processes for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Siegen and the regional savings banks and Volksbanks.

Michael Holz explained in his presentation the current bureaucratic burden of the cross-border transfer of workers in the EU based on Germany's border regions with France, the Netherlands and Austria. He said that this is generally supported as a measure for labour protection and against social dumping. In addition, there is criticism of the high level of bureaucratic burdens resulting from, among other things, the different implementation in the individual EU member states.
