What characterises the development of the East German start-up landscape since the end of the GDR? What role do regional conditions play in this? Answers to these questions are given by Prof. Dr. Michael Fritsch, Dr. Maria Greve (both Friedrich Schiller University Jena) and Assoc. Prof. Michael Wyrwich (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen/Netherlands) in their article "Entrepreneurship and Knowledge as Drivers of Regional Development" for the Policy Brief series "Entrepreneurship in Focus".
