Entrepreneurial activity already existed in the 3rd millennium BC. This is attested to by cuneiform inscriptions in contemporary Iraq. In the 5th volume of the Görres Society's Staatslexikon (8th edition), Prof. Dr. Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/ University of Siegen) shows how entrepreneurship has developed in the past centuries and which research approaches have been developed.
The Staatslexikon has been published since 130 years. It aims to examine the various terms both technically and from an interdisciplinary perspective.
