Participation in special events IfM-President at the SME Assembly 2021

At the European SME Assembly 2021, Hubert Gambs (Europäische Kommission, DG Growth), Prof Dr Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen), Prof Dr Ute Stephan (King's College, UK), Prof Dr Alfredo De Massis (Free University of Bolzano/Italy) and Prof Dr Arnis Sauka (Stockholm School of Economics, Riga/Latvia) discussed how small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) need to be supported on their way to a more sustainable economy.

IfM President stated that three aspects would be particularly helpful at the European level to enable SMEs to meet future challenges, such as more climate protection. These are: facilitate access to finance to stem investments in new technologies and those required to cope with climate change, the reduction of bureaucracy, and developing the regulatory framework with SME needs in mind.

The conference took place under the patronage of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency.
