Peter Kranzusch, Dr. Stefan Schneck and Hans-Jürgen Wolter presented the latest results on the "Income Situation of the Self-employed" in mid-March at the working group "The Work of the Self-Employed" of the German Sociological Association. The basis for this were evaluations with the Taxpayer Panel 2001 to 2014, which contains income tax data of the self-employed.
At the same workshop, Dr Olivier Butkowski informed the audience about further research on the subject of "hybrid self-employment", for which the data set is also being analysed. The combination of self-employment and dependent employment has meanwhile developed into a quantitatively significant type of employment.
