News & Updates, External publications Resource mobilization in peripheral locations

In order to implement a start-up project and maintain it, it is important for entrepreneurs to mobilise the necessary resources. However, this is not always easy.

For their article "It's right nearby: how entrepreneurs use spatial bricolage to overcome resource constraints", Prof. Dr. Steffen Koorsgard (University of Southern Denmark, Kolding/Denmark), Ass. Prof. Sabine Müller (University of Oslo, Norway, and LEGO Group, Denmark) and Prof. Dr. Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen) examined in a study how entrepreneurs in rural peripheral areas mobilise the resources they need. They identified three ways: The activities encompassed local sourcing including creative re-enactment of locally available resources, commodification through storytelling, and community involvement.

The article "It's right nearby: how entrepreneurs use spatial bricolage to over-come resource constraints" is published online early in "Entrepreneurship & Regional Development".
