External publications Silicon Valley as a model?

Entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley is repeatedly praised in public as "a model". But how model-like are these companies really?

In her article "Unternehmertum und Soziale Marktwirtschaft - (k)ein Gegensatz", Prof. Dr. Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen) shows among others on the basis of the historical development of entrepreneurship that the founders in Silicon Valley are also very much in the tradition of the Mittelstand business: In general, they are inspired by the desire to start their own entrepreneurial existence with something new.

The article is published in "Soziale Marktwirtschaft – Ordnung der Zukunft“, Veröffentlichungen der Joseph-Höffner-Gesellschaft“, 9, p. 107-109.
