How do small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) perceive climate change? What are the biggest challenges for them? What measures do they take against it? Dr Susanne Schlepphorst and Dr Markus Rieger-Fels gave answers to these and other questions at the consultation hour of the Competence Network Climate Adaptation & Enterprises.NRW at the beginning of June.
They showed that the measures taken by SMEs depend on their previous experience with the consequences of climate change on the one hand and on the available resources on the other. Additionally, financial hurdles and the occupation with other current business challenges are slowing down the adaptation efforts of small and medium-sized enterprises.
