Literature tends to address the quantity of firm growth and describes determinants fast-growing firms. In their recent study, Dr. Stefan Schneck, Hans-Jürgen Wolter and Prof. Dr. Arndt Werner (University of Siegen) have analysed the growth paths of companies over time and found that high-growth is unlikely to occur persistently over time. According to their analysis, persistently growing firms tend to invest more in their founding period and are typically founded in the manufacturing industry.
