Initial situation/problem
In 2014, 2017 and 2020, the IfM Bonn surveyed both entrepreneurs and experts on the challenges facing the Mittelstand in Germany as part of its Future Panel. These surveys will be continued at regular intervals.
Research objective/approach
This project aims to gain suggestions for the identification of sphere of activity for the founders and other actors relevant to SME policy. The survey of actors from economic policy, practice and science as well as the subsequent discussion of the topics in workshops contribute to gain a picture of the new challenges facing the Mittelstand. The project also interprets the new findings regarding the background of the results of the previous survey waves.
