Participation in external events Development processes of start-ups

The duration of the founding process from the intention to substantial profits fluctuates strongly depending on the context of the business foundation. Dr. Teita Bijedić discussed the crucial influencing factors at the virtual Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (BCERC) in the presentation "From idea to profit: A cross country analysis on how start-ups emerge and grow".

Together with Dr. Nadine Schlömer-Laufen, Dr. Jonas Löher, Dr. Sebastian Nielen and Ass. Prof. Dr. Andrea M. Herrmann (Utrecht University) she found out that radical innovations require more time to establish on the market due to the newness of the products or services. Furthermore they found differences based on the institutional context.

The results are based on the "Perfect Timing Database" (Herrmann et al. 2018) with information of founders in Germany, USA, Italy and Great Britain in the industries "alternative energy" and "information technology".
