Participation in external events IfM at the RENT 2025

Researchers of the IfM Bonn presented their results in three presentations at this year's "Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business" (RENT) conference in mid-November in Enschede, Netherlands: Dr Christian Schröder examined the question whether innovations that arise in times of macroeconomic crisis have a similarly positive effect as innovations introduced in normal economic times. In his presentation, Dr Sebastian Nielen highlighted how public childcare affects the self-employment of men and women. Felix Becker provided an overview of the role and broad application of digital technologies for entrepreneurship research.

Prof. Dr Dr Friederike Welter (IfM Bonn/University of Siegen) also contributed as co-author to the poster of Dr Meike Stephan (University of Siegen / "Too small to count? Unmasking the Political Influence of SMEs through Lobbying") and in the study "Doing Gender in Elite Families: Why Women in Chinese Elite Families Do Entrepreneurship" by Anna-Katharina Schaper (Technical University of Munich) and Shuang L. Frost (Aarhus University/Denmark). The three authors received the "International Small Business Journal (ISBJ)'s Best Paper Award challenging the conventional wisdom in Entrepreneurship at RENT XXXIX Conference" for their research on female entrepreneurship in China.
