Policy makers are seeking to promote the circular economy in Germany and across Europe in order to reduce dependence on exports of raw materials and intermediate products. In their article "Regulations in the circular economy: How can environmental protection be promoted whilst simultaneously strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises?", Dr Michael Rothgang and Dr Jochen Dehio (RWI-Leibniz Institute for Economic Research) highlight both the opportunities and the current challenges facing Mittelstand enterprises.
Their article has been published in the policy brief series "Entrepreneurship in Focus" by the research network Entrepreneurship, Innovation and SMEs e.V. and IfM Bonn.
