Approximately 15,000 industrial companies are already active in the security and defence sector, according to the latest survey by IfM Bonn: four out of ten companies are considering this fort he future. The companies that can envisage manufacturing for the security and defence sector include more Mittelstand enterprises than manager-led companies.
The chartbook "The German Security and Defence Sector: Potential of the Manufacturing Industry" reports that the entrepreneurs who are already active in this sector, as well as those who are potentially interested, are expecting sales growth and the development of new markets as a result. But almost three out of ten respondents also see this as a contribution to safeguarding Germany’s defence capability.
45% of large enterprises consider their own economic situation as (very) good, according to the short survey by IfM Bonn. Among micro-enterprises, this figure is only 31%. Both large and smaller enterprises assess the current business environment significantly more negatively.
