External publication | 2025 Young and small firms and resilience to extreme weather events

Regions with high levels of entrepreneurial initiative, in which there are many young and small businesses, are more economically resilient to extreme weather events. This is the conclusion reached by the team of authors based on event studies at county level in the United States. As regional resilience can be considered a public good, these findings provide arguments for supporting young and small businesses in the face of extreme weather events, which are becoming more frequent and intense as a result of advancing climate change.
