What characterises successful start-up ecosystems? Dr Rosemarie Kay explored this question in her presentation at the 10th network meeting of the "More Female Entrepreneurs for SMEs" action plan, held in Berlin in mid-October. According to her, good transport and telecommunications infrastructure, a high population density and good provision of social resources are defining characteristics of a start-up ecosystem with a high propensity for start-ups.
