External publication | 2025 Business succession in Germany: The role of women-led businsses

In Germany, around 38,000 owner-managed businesses are up for succession every year. The chapter addresses the questions of how many of these businesses are run by women, what influence gender has on the realisation of handover plans and whether the potential for succession among women has already been exhausted.
